Bonding, sealing and potting
Industrial Adhesive
Zennov supplies industrial adhesives for bonding, sealing and potting on production lines in Malaysia. We start from the joint, not from a catalogue: what you are joining, how your line applies and cures adhesive, and the conditions the finished part has to survive.
If you already buy tapes, foams or thermal pads from us, your adhesives can go on the same quotation: one less supplier to qualify and manage.
Where our adhesives are used
Industrial
Sandwich, insulation and honeycomb panels for buildings and clean rooms; sealing and potting of HEPA, dust, oil, water and automotive filters; refrigerated truck bodies and RVs; home decoration.
Transportation
Car interior trim and exterior parts, with low-VOC and low-odour options for interiors; vehicle assembly; rail and marine; large composite parts in SMC, FRP or ABS, such as heavy-truck door panels and tailgates.
Electronics
Consumer and automotive electronics, 5G and telecommunication equipment, new energy vehicles, battery packs and potted electronic modules.
For adhesive tapes in the same industries, see Automotive, Consumer Electronics and Electric Vehicle Battery.
Adhesive types we supply
A first pointer, by what the joint has to do; each type is described below.
Must flex, seal or absorb movement
Start with polyurethane or modified silane.
Structural joints exposed to heat, oil or impact
Start with epoxy.
Parts must move on within seconds
Hot melt, or UV cure where light can reach the bond line.
Porous or heat-sensitive materials
A water-based adhesive.
Polyurethane (PU)
One-component grades react with moisture in the air; two-component grades combine a resin and a hardener. Either way the bond is tough yet flexible, holds up in the cold and resists weathering.
- Sandwich and insulation panels
- Filter bonding and potting
- Two-component potting for electronic modules
- Solvent-free or water-based PU for headliners and interior trim
Epoxy
Cures to a rigid, high-strength joint on metal, plastic and composite parts that tolerates heat, oils and knocks. Two-part grades set without an oven, and heat speeds them up; single-part grades need a heat cycle.
- Structural bonding of metal and composite parts
- Potting and encapsulating electronics
- Parts that run hot or touch oil in service
Water-based
The adhesive is carried in water instead of organic solvent and bonds as the water leaves. It suits porous or heat-sensitive materials and lines that want to move away from solvents.
- Car headliners, carpets and door panels
- Laminating porous materials
Hot melt (thermoplastic)
Supplied solid, applied molten and set as it cools, so parts can move to the next station almost straight away. It is solvent-free and can be re-melted. Heat resistance is limited, so tell us the temperature the finished part will see.
- Car-interior trim: armrests, dashboards and luggage compartments
- Assembly steps that cannot wait for a cure
UV cure
A one-component adhesive cured on demand. Operators position and check the part first, switch on the UV lamp, and the joint locks within seconds. Light has to reach the bond line, through a clear part or at an exposed bead.
- Holding parts in place during electronics assembly
- Joints where one part lets light through
Modified silane (MS)
A solvent-free, one-component adhesive that cures with humidity in the air into a flexible, rubber-like bond, so one bead both bonds and seals. It resists sagging on vertical joints.
- Joints that must absorb movement or vibration
- Dissimilar materials that expand at different rates
- Vertical joints and seams
Specialist products for electronics
Potting compounds
Two-component PU and epoxy potting that seals and protects battery packs, power capacitors, power modules, current and tyre-pressure sensors, controller modules and junction boxes.
Thermal management
Thermally conductive adhesive, thermal potting and thermal gel to carry heat away from electronics, alongside the thermal pads in our catalogue.
Electrically conductive adhesive
Bonds while carrying current, for grounding and electrical connections where soldering is not practical.
Reactive hot melt (PUR)
Goes on like a hot melt, then reacts with moisture in the air to form a permanent bond.
Conformal coating
A thin protective film that shields circuit boards from moisture and dust.
Where a standard grade does not fit, customised formulations can be arranged.
What to include in your enquiry
The more we know about the job, the closer our first suggestion will be. Please include:
- Materials: what you are joining, and any coating, paint or surface treatment
- Use: where the part goes and the heat, cold, outdoor exposure, oils or vibration it will face
- Process: how your line applies adhesive (by hand, bead, spray, roller or dispenser) and any curing limits, such as no oven on the line
- Volume: expected monthly usage, preferred pack size and when you need the first delivery
