Thermally Conductive

A two-part polyurethane that makes a structural bond and conducts heat in the same joint, for example between battery cells and a cooling plate. It mixes 1:1, bonds aluminium at 7 MPa or more and PET film at 2 MPa or more, and is rated V-0. Three grades offer 1.2, 2.0 and 2.5 W/m·K.

Choosing a grade

  • The joint has to carry load and pass heat, so a separate thermal pad or gel can be left out.
  • Choose by heat load and working time: ZLA-5102 (1.2 W/m·K) gives 20 min or more of pot life; ZLA-5104 and ZLA-5106 conduct more and give 10 min or more.
  • No heat path needed? The flame-retardant PU grades are lighter and much easier to pump.

Flame-Retardant

Two-part polyurethane structural adhesives for joints where fire behaviour and weight matter more than heat transfer. They are far thinner than the thermally conductive grades, which suits automated meter-mix dispensing, and they bond aluminium at 9 MPa or more (12.7 MPa typical on ZLA-5204). Both grades are rated V-0.

Choosing a grade

  • Lightweight structures where every gram counts: ZLA-5202 has a mixed density of 1.35 g/cm³ or less.
  • Automated lines that need a lower-viscosity structural adhesive.
  • The highest aluminium lap shear of our PU range: ZLA-5204, 12.7 MPa typical.
  • If the bond must also move heat, use the thermally conductive PU grades.
