Silicone Sealant
Ready-to-use silicone sealants that need no mixing and cure with atmospheric moisture into an insulating, flame-retardant rubber. Typical uses are sealing and holding parts in power supplies and battery electronics. One grade is a general insulating sealant in white or black; the other conducts heat at 1.5 W/m·K.
Choosing a grade
- You want to bond and seal in one step without mixing equipment.
- Choose ZLA-4404 when the bead must also pass heat to a housing or cold plate.
MS Polymer Sealant
Modified silane (MS) polymer sealants that cure with air humidity into an elastic joint, bonding and sealing in a single application. They are low in volatiles and leave very little oil on neighbouring parts. Choose a general bonding grade in white or black, or a thermally conductive grade at 2 W/m·K; both are rated V-0.
Choosing a grade
- Elastic bonding and sealing in one step, with no mixing.
- Fixing temperature sensors to parts that run hot: ZLA-8104 (2 W/m·K).
- General bonding where colour matters: ZLA-8102 in white, or ZLA-8102B in black.
- If the joint will need to be opened again, use the non-curing sealant.
Non-Curing Sealant
A grey sealant paste that never cures: it stays soft, so a housing sealed with it can be opened, serviced and sealed again. It insulates electrically, keeps water and moisture out and is rated V-0. It suits battery-pack enclosures and other seals on uneven surfaces.
Choosing a grade
- Enclosures that must be reopened for service or part replacement.
- Seals on curved or uneven flanges, where a cut gasket is hard to fit.
- Need a permanent bond instead? Use an MS polymer or silicone sealant.
